Ginkgo Joy 2 celebrates the kind of joy that appears unexpectedly—bright, imperfect, and alive.
Abstract ginkgo forms float across a richly layered background of charcoal, violet, and deep blue. Luminous yellows, greens, turquoise, and warm coral emerge from the darker surface, while delicate stems and scattered fragments create movement throughout the composition.
Created with oil and cold wax over acrylic ink, the painting is built through a process of layering and revealing. Colors and marks are partially covered and rediscovered, allowing each ginkgo form to carry traces of what came before.
Rather than depicting the leaves precisely, Ginkgo Joy 2 captures their movement and spirit. Joy here isn't something polished or perfect—it exists alongside complexity, change, and imperfection. It catches our attention in flashes, reminding us to notice it when it appears.
